I have a custom transition form with a tab control and 12 tabs. I'm currently showing a short name ("Page 1", "Page 2") for each tab. I'd like to show the long name / description when the user hovers over the tab. Does anyone have some JS to do this or at least give me a hint? Thanks in advance.

Note: I've tried making the tab "span" HTML element look kinda like the label of a field that does have hover help but it didn't work.

Can't help with a pop-up on the tab, but as a suggestion, could you consider adding a custom popup to an image/link on each tab that provides the additional details. I've used this as an option to provide user specific help on fields on a form. Just a thought :)

I am no JavaScript/CSS expert. However, you may want to look at the pop-over we use to show a user's Contact Card info when you click on a user. This feature has been in SBM for a while, I can't remember if it goes back to 10.x or 11.x.

In my experience, I need to click a user name in order to display the popup for the user's Profile Card. We need something that operates on hover. Users might be confused if we changed the "click" action from "show contents of tab" to "show hover help".

Hi, Paul, you are right! I figured you'd use similar JavaScripts and CSS for the overlay, but attach it tot he tab as an on-hover rather than as an on-click action.
