I need a separate primary table to hold items that exist only in relation to a primary item. For various reasons it needs to be a primary table rather than an aux table, but without a workflow and without the ability to submit except as a post transition or subtask transition from the primary item's app.

I don't want users to even see the tab in their list of tabs for apps. Is this possible?

Hmmm I saw your post via email but I'm not seeing it in the forum here.
If your question is still the same uncheck the default transition, this won't allow a direct submit so that only the submit via sub-task where you specify the submit would have access.

I'm aware you can do everything except hide the tab from users, if sub-tasking they would still need priv but you can stop them from being able to submit directly. In the versions I'm familiar with I don't know any way to hide an application tab

How do you stop them from submitting directly if they have permission to do so and open the tab? Doesn't there have to be a submit transition for them to use for the subtask?

Odd - I can see my reply and your reply. Dunno what Mystery of the Internet is involved. anyway, thanks for the answer; I assumed Serena would insist on having a default submit active. Good deal that they don't.
