Hi,

I have a problem on getting information out of a report. I'm just creating an "Entering a State Trend report". How can I get the output as numbers instead of chart?

I want to import those reports into Excel to make further calculations and charts, but with the information only available in charts this is not possible.

Hope you can help, thanks in advance,

Manfred

    Hello,
    The report answer is XML formatted, so it should be pretty easy to parse the answer using an new XSL transform either on the server side, either on the client side.
    What you need to do is following:
    - capture the initial POST URL which returns the chart;
    - remove the parameter stylesheet= to see the plain XML answer;
    - on the server side check the XSL used to transform the initial XML (Eg: xsl/richgraphical.xsl);
    Following the rules from above XSL you can create your own XSL transformation to generate a valid HTML/Excel format.

    You should be able to use the Export to Excel icon in the top right hand corner of the report.

    Hi Doru,
    The URL of this report is like this:
    http://server/tmtrack/tmtrack.dll?rep...
    I don't have the parameter stylesheet= nor do I know what possibilities there are for Template=
    When I try to remove parameter Template= then I just get nothing, frame keeps blank / empty.
    Thanks for your hint, though.

    Hi Bill,
    With this I get numbers into Excel instead of a chart. But this is plain values and there is no link to TT. So I do not have a possibility to do "update all links" or so in Excel.
    For one or two reports this would be ok, but I need about 20-25 reports imported all in the same sheet in the same format to be able to perform calculations on those then.
    Thanks for your hint, though.

    Manfred - Please contact Serena Support to request an enhancement to the Trend - Entering State reports which would allow the output to be in a table vs. just a line graph.
