Traceable administrative Activities Hot

by Sabine Trautewein on January 10, 2017

For IT-Security reasons, it should be extremely helpful if Serena would implement a higher security standard with regard to administrative activities.

  • A short time ago, in our organization it was launched to have all administrative activities traceable, which means within the Dimensions Administration Console, ideally those have to be detectable to one person without any doubt.

    Such as:

    • Adding and Managing Users and groups in the base database

    • Assign users and roles and managing existing assignments

    • Specifying which users can perform which operations in Dimensions

    • Configuration Object Management

    • Product administration

    • Database Management

    • Distributed development

As long as almost all activities in fat-and web-Client are detectable to User-ID or full name, it shouldn’t pose a big challenge doing the same with administrative activities.Thinking about a Configuration System which may contain confidential or even strictly confidential data / documents, I´m sure other companies do have similar security requirements .
