Web Service calls using "Display Name" or "IssueID" Hot

by Steven Nguyen on January 20, 2016

Web Services calls for "GetItem" or "GetItems" is currently not working using "Display Name" or "IssueID/ItemID" even though the tableID is already specified.

  • Web Services calls for "GetItem" or "GetItems" is currently not working using "Display Name" or "IssueID/ItemID" even though we already specified a unique identifier: "tableID" in the web service call.  In this case, we only have 1 project in our solution and all display name are unique.  We were told to use the tableID:ItemID or use a workaround using the "GetItemsByQuery" and specify this "TS_ISSUEID = 'SCM712681'"

Can SBM be enhanced its "getItem" or "getItems" to use the "displayname" or "recordID" instead?  Specifying the "TableID:ItemID" is not a good method for our front-end users.  They don't know that unique identifier.
